Reporting into Group CFO

Global and growing tech led business is looking to hire a Head of Finance – Americas.  This role will give you a genuine chance to be part of the future of the business and shape a truly exceptional finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and consolidate finance operations across the Americas.
  • Build, restructure, and engage a geographically dispersed team
  • Drive finance business partnering, embedding finance alongside business units to make the function more commercial and strategic.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to regional business leaders and ex-founders; build trust and support their growth.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting, including ad hoc, stakeholder driven requirements (with flexible, non-fixed reporting cycles).
  • Prepare the business for a potential sale (not a short-term exit role, expected to stay post-transaction).
  • Enhance financial processes and reporting cadence to reduce reactivity and improve efficiency.
  • Oversee change management, team resourcing, and adaptation to new business needs.
  • Be hands-on, agile, and unafraid to “roll up sleeves”.
  • Work in partnership with HR and other business leaders for team development and change initiatives.

Essential Experience:

  • Prior experience in a Head of Finance/ Finance Director or senior business partnering role.
  • Need to have demonstrable experience in building and leading their own small team.
  • Process design, automation and/or transformation skills
  • Team building and leadership, especially across dispersed or virtual teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen – proven ability to influence, challenge, and drive business outcomes.
  • Experience preparing for or managing through a sale process (M&A/PE exit) is a plus, but not essential.

  • Strong proven stakeholder management and Business Partnering
  • Leadership and team engagement – the ability and experience to identify talent, design and build a high performing team
  • Adaptability, resilience, and a can-do hands-on approach.
  • Survivalist Mindset: Candidates who have had setbacks and shown resilience are preferred.
  • Excellent communication: ability to influence and partner with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Service-oriented approach – supporting business leaders with insight, not just numbers.
  • Change leadership – comfortable challenging “the way things have always been”.
  • Must be robust, proactive, and able to function in a fast-evolving environment.

Qualifications

  • CPA essential; MBA potentially considered.
  • Foundational training in Big 4/ Public Accounting Practice before moving in-house (minimum 4–5 years in-house experience).

This is a real opportunity to shape finance within the business.  Maybe you are currently in a smaller CFO/ Startup role, wanting to be part of a larger more complex business. Alternatively, maybe you are second in command to an exceptional Senior Finance Director already in a much larger business, and you are ready to run your own team.
