Interim International Tax Director

A leading global digital media business with operations across America, Europe, the UK, and Australia, this innovative company is backed by a strong commitment to excellence and operational efficiency. The organisation is seeking an experienced Interim International Tax Director to help identify potential gaps and improve their tax processes.

Position Overview:

The Interim International Tax Director will play a crucial role in assessing and enhancing international tax operations. This individual will oversee the examination of current tax practices, focusing on VAT compliance, Sales and Use Tax, GST, and various post-deal aspects, while developing proactive strategies to minimise risk and improve processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct a comprehensive review of local tax practices to identify gaps in compliance and processes.
• Evaluate existing VAT, Sales & Use Tax and GST processes and regulations across jurisdictions to ensure they are fit for purpose and fully compliant.
• Review tax reporting, data and efficiencies
• Advise on transfer pricing projects and rationalisation efforts.
• Collaborate with local finance teams and advisers in each jurisdiction
• Proactively identify areas of risk and develop solutions to address potential issues.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding tax strategies and practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an International Tax Director or in a similar role within a corporate environment, preferably in the digital media sector.
• Strong knowledge of international tax regulations, VAT compliance, Sales and Use Tax, and GST.
• Experience with private equity-backed companies is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with finance and operational teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively.
