Interim Head of Tax

The Consultancy Group have been instructed on a Interim Head of Tax Vacancy based in London

Role Responsibilities:

• Sole tax personnel in group directly reporting to Group FD
• Preparation and submission of group tax returns to HMRC(15 entities) using Alphatax
• Preparation of tax provision for group accounts under IFRS for half year and year end as well as under FRS101 for subsidiary accounts. First point of contact for auditors on tax queries
• Calculation of quarterly tax payments on account for UK and Preliminary payments in Ireland
• Liaising with external advisors to ensure Irish subsidiary and branch returns completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
• Liaising with External advisors on tax technical matters
• Manage R&D claim which is prepared by external specialist team
• Country By Country Reporting
• Monitor Corporate Interest Restriction position of the group
• Preparing published company Tax Strategy
• Preparation of Senior Accounting Officer submission to HMRC and policy and processes tosupport certification including quarterly checklists
• First point of contact for business with HMRC CCM
• Documentation of group Tax Risk and Control Matrix and various Tax Policy papers to obtain Low Risk rating with HMRC during Business Risk Review
• Review of group revenue streams to ensure appropriate VAT treatment applies
• Answering queries from business in relation to VAT
• Review of VAT return prepared by finance team
• Preparation of PSA and ensure appropriate treatment of staff benefits by maintaining a benefits listing detailing applicable tax treatment
• Tax technical point of contact for Payroll and HR teams
• IR35- ensuring business adheres to policy implemented by Payroll team
• Partnering with HR and external providers to adopt Employer of Record model for remote hires so the company can be employment tax compliant in overseas jurisdictions

Requirements:

• Immediately Available
• Right to Work in the UK
• Ability to travel to London based offices
• Previous Senior Manager/Director/Head of Tax Experience

The role is based in London a hybrid basis, paying a day rate inside IR35.
